Character List (A work in Progress)

"Example has more followers than reason. We unconsciously imitate what pleases us, and approximate to the characters we most admire."
Christian Nestell Bovee

I am a lover of literature. Like most bookworms, I form attachments to characters and grow to love them. I thought long and hard about the characters I like, and choosing to list these 'people' means there is something about them I admire and want to emulate. Of course, movies have bled into this list of my most admired characters!

1. Ripley (an obvious choice) I know! How pedestrian..but Ripley is maternal and bad ass; and that sequel was one hell of a movie.

   2. Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryan/Spencer Tracey and Frederic March.
Inherit the Wind is one of my favorite plays (based on the Scopes trial in 1925) and the Drummond character (based on Darrow) is one of my favorite all time characters.
The real Darrow and Bryan

3. Tyrion Lannister

I am a newbie to Game of Thrones, but already the most interesting character is Tyrion. His wit, honesty, interest in others, and mostly his hedonism :)
"He sleeps well at the end of the day"

4.  Arthur Weasley

I LOVE Arthur Weasley. The father of Ronald Weasley in the Harry Potter series, he has an enduring fascination with 'muggle' culture, and is a constant and altruistic force among the 'purebloods'.

BIG LOVE!   Awesome show about polygamous Mormons. Funny, interesting, but by far the BEST character is Lois Henrickson. She was superfeisty, super smart, and almost succeeded in killing her husband...a few times. In the last few episodes, Lois began to suffer from dementia, and she KNEW it. So she did EXACTLY what I would do...made a graceful and peaceful exit. I never cried SO much watching a TV show as I did watching this scene:
