There is power....

I have been a proud Union member for 14 years; and as an American History teacher, I understand the power and importance of unions. I have worked as an officer of my Union for all the years I have been employed. Without Unions and the power to organize we would have no weekend, no minimum wage, no healthcare, no middle class. Unions have fought,  and men and women have died for, and won: fair wages for women, shorter hours, workman's compensation, job safety, and an end to child labor. On May 1st, take a moment to think of what the working men and women have achieved, and how easily those gains can be taken. It is really that simple.
